The Quebec Forest Industry Council (QFIC) is a non-profit organization comprising more than 300 members from various sectors of the industry. These include: 81 engaged in softwood lumber production; 12 in hardwood and pine sawmilling and veneer manufacturing; 8 in pulp, paper, paperboard and boards; plus more than 160 associate members.
The Quebec Forest Industry Council (QFIC) is the main voice of the forest industry in Quebec. The organization represents the interests of companies in the sectors of softwood and hardwood lumber, veneer, pulp, paper, paperboard and boards. Thanks to its expertise and that of its partners, the QFIC provides support and direction to its members on issues concerning forestry and supply, the environment and energy, recognition of product quality, human resources, occupational health and safety, as well as monitoring of legal, economic, regulatory and market developments. Through its dealings with government departments and agencies, other players in the forestry sector, as well as the general public, the QFIC highlights the contribution of its members to socioeconomic development, the responsible use of natural resources, and sustainable forest management, and the environmental quality of products.
