Recognition of Individuals

Each year, the Quebec Forest Industry Council presents three awards to three representatives of industry members of the CIFQ in recognition of their outstanding achievement.

The awards are: the Prix Alfred-Plourde (softwood lumber) awarded to a Quebec personality who has significantly contributed to the development of the lumber industry throughout his/her career; the Prix d’excellence pâtes et papiers, awarded to a Quebec personality in the pulp and paper industry who has significantly contributed to the sector’s growth in the past year (or throughout his/her career); and the Prix d’excellence déroulage et sciage de feuillus et de pins, awarded to a Quebec personality who has significantly contributedto the development of the forest industry throughout his/her career.

To earn these distinctions, recipients must have helped to increase awareness of the industry by their involvement, managerial style, innovative spirit and entrepreneurship, thus fostering the growth of their business.

In addition, at the request of the QFIC Board of Directors, the Prix reconnaissance pour contribution exceptionnelle is awarded to a Quebec personality who has contributed to the development of the forestry sector.
